HOUSER, Ethel Brewer

Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Mrs. Ethel May Houser, age 79, died at 4:30 p. m. Monday, Jan. 22, at her home, two miles southwest of Hillsboro. She had been in failing health several months. She was born Aug. 7, 1882, near Veedersburg, the daughter of Scott and Margaret Arrasmith Brewer. She married Martyn Houser Nov. 14, 1901. He died Jan. 4, 1952. Mr. and Mrs. Houser spent their active married life on the farm where Mrs. Houser died. She was a member of the Hillsboro Methodist Church. Mrs. Houser is survived by three sons, John of near Crawfordsville, Robert of Hillsboro and James of Veedersburg; two daughters, Mrs. Mabel Frye of Hillsboro and Mrs. Margaret Tate of Chicago; three brothers, Till Brewer of Veedersburg, Elmer Brewer of Peoria Ill., and Lester Brewer, whereabouts unknown; 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter. Funeral services were announced for 2 o'clock this afternoon, Jan. 24, at the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro with the Rev. Ron Carlson in charge. Burial was in Rockfield Cemetery, southeast of Veedersburg.
